ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

Mechatronics Engineering combines the fundamentals of Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics and Computer Science to develop autonomous systems. A Mechatronic Engineer designs smart machines and systems that are aware of their environment, and can processing information to make decisions.

Mechatronics is one of the best suitable branches for those students who aspire in robotics/ electronics/automation company field. It in an interdisciplinary field with a blend of 40% mechanical, 40% electronics and 20% computer science.

Objective:

To impart knowledge about the elements and techniques involved in mechatronics system which are very much essential to design and understand the emerging field of automation.

Scope:

There is growing demand for mechatronic engineers as things become computerised and automated. Instead of advanced mechanical design courses in 3rd and 4th year of mechanical engineering, here they do robotic design and computer controls.

Germany is one of the best countries to do Masters in Mechatronics. Over all you can choose any one of the countries from Europe, including Portugal, Spain and Netherlands to do the course. Other countries where you can study the course are USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

Career opportunity:

Demand for Mechatronics Engineers is expected to go up, with an expected 55,790 new jobs filled by 2018. This represents an annual increase of 5.00 percent over the next few years. The following are the roles of a mechatronics engineer

  • Robotics engineer/technician.
  • Automation engineer.
  • Control system design/troubleshooting engineer.
  • Electronics design engineer.
  • Mechanical design engineer.
  • Data scientist/big data analyst.
  • Instrumentation engineer.
  • Software engineer.
