PROFILE OF THE DEPARTMENT

The Department of Placement, Training and Students Affairs is one of the active, Vibrant and popular Departments in Prathyusha. The Department carries out various Placement, Training and Student Welfare activities throughout the year. The Department is headed by Ex. Capt. (NCC) RG Thayakaran, M.A (Eng Litt), M.Ed., MBA, LLB as Director / Dean and assisted by Placement Officer, Coordiantors from all Department and the Placement Staff.

TRAINING PROGRAMMES

The Department of Training, Placement and Students Affairs strongly believes in the adage

“ Give a man a fish, he can feed himself a day, Teach a man to fish, he can feed himself for his life”.

 Keeping this in view the department has organises various training programmes for the benefit of the students. It is also pertinent to mention here that a lion share of the fee collection is spent on Training programmes for the benefit of the students

• Digital manufacturing and Product design organized by Harita Techserv Catia/ Delmia for IV Year Mechanical Students
• Cisco Training
  • Module I – Cisco Certified Network Associate routing and switching : Introduction to Networks for II & III Year Students
  • Module II – Cisco Certified Network Associate (Routing and Switching) Routing Essentials for II & III Year Students
• IBM Career Education Training
• Advances Software Foundation Course for II Year UG Students
• Embedded Systems, Big Data, DB2, Mobile Application Development and Enterprise Java for III & IV Year UG Students

We also strongly believe in the saying that,

Our earnest endeavor is to place all our eligible students in various corporate as per his suitability.Towards achieving this objective,  the Department has organized a number of   On and Pooled Campus Recruitment Drives during the year and reputed firms like Anglo Eastern Ship Management, IBM India Pvt Ltd, Harita Techserv Ltd, Excelacom Technologies, Polaris Consulting and Services, Sutherland Global Services, Vuram Technology Solutions Pvt Ltd, Cognizant Technology Solutions, HTC Global Services India Pvt Ltd, Zifo Technologies, Sans Pareil IT Services, RT Medibus Technologies, Aegis Solutions, Hinduja Global Services, Tech Mahindra, Inexo Cast Metal Solutions Pvt Ltd, Global Knowledge Networks, Pompeii Tech Pvt Ltd,  Encore Management,  Visionary RCM Infotech, Nathi Information Technologies, Saksin Life Sciences, Mag Genome Tech, Kumaran Systems, Siam Computing, Techsosy India Pvt Ltd, RGS Constructions, Odyssey Technologies, Valued Epistemics, Enoah isolutions, C core India Techno Solutions, Domex E Data, Stanadyne Amalgamations, Trainocate Networks,      & CSS Corp Ltd organized their Recruitment Programmes and around 230 students have already been placed through these On Campus Placement Drives.

During the Academic Session 2015-2016, the Department has invited 21 corporate to conduct On Campus Recruitment Drive. Our students have been placed in 30 corporate through On & Off Campus Recruitment Drives.

Though a total of 458 students were eligible for placement, some of them opted to pursue higher studies and appear for other competitive examinations and thus a total of 452 students have been placed.

FUTURE PLACEMENT DRIVES

Black Cactus Global, Danfoss Industries, Borg Warner, Jasmin Infotech, Vernalis, Odessys, and Crompton Pumps are most likely to visit this college for the On Campus Recruitment Drives for the 2018 passing out Batch the process for the Drive is in pipe line.

 Internship Programmes:

The Department of Training, Placement and Students Affairs has also arranged Internship Programmes for interested students during the year in various Government Organisation and industries.

We are grateful to HTC Global Services, Yashikaa Industries, Schneider Electric India Pvt Ltd,  National Instruments, Caterpillar and Balaji Distilleries for their generous support in providing internship to our students.

ANNA UNIVERSITY TAMIL NADU STATE LEVEL PLACEMENT PROGRAMME 2013-2014

We have added yet another feather to our cap by organizing the Anna university Tamil Nadu State Level Placement Programme 2013-2014  and TNSLPP 2014-2015 and around 3000 students hailing from various Engineering Colleges affiliated to Anna University, Chennai participated in this  programme organized in association with Infosys Technologies, Chennai . Around 100 students from various colleges have been placed in Infosys Technologies through this placement programme. The participants  felt that PITAM was a “Home away from home”.

Besides the above Recruitment Programmes students are also encouraged, trained and guided for participation in Anna University Tamil Nadu State Level Placement Programme and other Off campus Recruitment programmes organized from time to time.  Students have been placed in Infosys Technologies & Cognizant Technology Solutions, through these programmes.

AWARENESS SEMINAR FOR RECRUITMENT IN INDIAN ARMED FORCES

With a view to explore new possibilities for Recruitment of Mechanical and EEE Students in Indian Navy and Merchant Marine,  we organize regular awareness seminars for our Pre final and Final year students to don the uniform of our armed forces and merchant marine.

 We are very happy to inform that with our continuous motivation and guidance  three of our students have joined the portal of our Defense Services

• Usha of ECE Department joined the Indian Air Force,
• Chaitanya Marthuri of Information Technology has is cleared SSB to enter into the portals of the Indian Navy

Mr. George Paul Clement of Information Technology Department has joined the  Coast Guard as Commissioned Officer.

Though the Department left no stone unturned to impart necessary Training and grooming to enhance the employability of our students still we need to harvest bumper in placing our students in reputed MNCs.
