ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Department of Civil Engineering was established in the year 2009. The B.E. Civil Engineering program was duly approved and accredited by the AICTE and Affiliated to Anna University. An intake of 60 was sanctioned initially. Subsequently, in the year 2012, an additional intake of 60 was sanctioned. The department activities are fully supported by the dedicated and qualified faculty. The department has well-experienced faculty and staff members of proven track record in the field of Civil Engineering. All faculties are having a minimum teaching experience of 5 years with a minimum qualification of Post Graduate degree including 1 faculty member with Ph.D qualification. The Faculty Members in the department are periodically attending workshops and conferences to upgrade their skills. In addition, the department also organizes workshops, seminars, symposiums and Staff Development Programmes to expose the recent developments.
The department imparts the basic knowledge in the areas of Civil Engineering including Structural Engineering, Hydraulics & Fluid Machinery, Environmental Engineering, Construction Management, Transportation Engineering, Remote Sensing and GIS, Geotechnical Engineering etc.,

*ENVIRO CLUB* students harvested greens and cultivated through organic farming process as a token of love , a portion of their first harvest was given to college mess.
Civil department students have done Roof Top Gardening in “Prathyusha Engineering College” and has participated in NATIONAL LEVEL COMPETITION and have won 25th place in Entrepreneurs IP TEAM 2014-2015
Our students (DASAPRAKASH.P, MOHAN RAM.K, GEETHA.L) has won II nd prize for COSMOS in association with a national level Technical meet in Chennai Institute of Technology in the Academic year of 2018-19.
Our final year students (M.Jayakeerti, B.Surya Rajan, T.K.Rajaguru) from civil department have participated in the Oratorical competition on "INNOVATIVE TECHNIQUES IN MODERN CONSTRUCTION" held on 22nd October 2018 at Anna University in commemoration of "BUILDERS' DAY CELEBRATION" conducted by Builders' Association of India Southern Centre (All India Association of Engineering Construction). In the Academic year of 2018-19.
4 students have participated in STATE LEVEL CANOE COMPETITION in SRM UNIVERSITY and have won 2nd Prize in the year 2016-2017
