The Department of Placement, Training and Students Affairs emerged as one of the most active, vibrant and popular Departments in PITAM during the Academic Session 2010-11. Let us have a glimpses of these activities.
The Department has organized a crash course in English under the aegis of the Department of English for the fresher's and around 550 students have benefited by this course.
The Department also organized a year long Basic Course in German & Japanese communication with a view to enhance the employability of our students. The introduction of Spanish and Korean Language courses is also in pipeline and the same will be introduced w.e.f. this academic session.
The Department has imparted training in Managerial Skills, Personality Development and Soft Skills inviting reputed trainers like Strides Consulting and Corner Stone Soft Skills and around 1500 students have been benefited by these courses.
Coming to Placement activities, the Department has organized a number of On Campus and Pool Campus Recruitment Programmes during this year and reputed firms like HCL Technologies, Infosys Technologies, American Mega Trends India Pvt. Ltd. , Syntel Ltd, Global Edge Software, Crown World Wide, Share Khan Ltd, Aon Hewitt , India Info Line, NIIT and Orckit Corrigent organized their Recruitment Programmes and around 200 students have already been placed. Besides the above Recruitment Programmes students also encouraged, trained and guided to participate in Anna University Tamil Nadu State Level Placement Programme and other Off campus Recruitment programmes organized from time to time. Students have been placed in Cognizant Technology Solutions, Computer Science Corporation Pvt. Ltd. and Accenture through these programmes.
With a view to enable our students to pursue their higher studies in USA, U.K, Australia, Canada and other developed countries, the Department organizes seminar inviting resource person from University of Bristol (U.K), Curtin University of Technology, Australia and University of Chester (U.K)
At this junction we publicly acknowledge and recognize the consultancy services extended by Mr. Stephen Hughes, Faculty of Bio Medical Science, University of Chester (U.K), Ms. Michelle Duval, Intern form Australia who have directly interacted with our students and guided them in their pursuit their education in U.K and other countries.
Recently the Department in collaboration with the Department of Management Studies launched the Nation Entrepreneurship Network (NEN) for the benefit of the Faculty and Students.
